Bear Tooth Woods is bringing you a limited-edition New Year's blank that will only be available between December 1, 2020 - January 5, 2021. Any blanks on the shelf after January 5th will still be available for sale, but no additional blanks will be made after the 5th of Jan. Some of the glitter used in the blanks is extremely limited, but we believe we have procured enough for the entire run.

We are always on the lookout for gorgeous glitters to create amazing blanks for you on our way to Glitter Pen Blank World Domination :-). Tori couldn’t pass up this peach-pink champagne glitter when she saw it. It reminded her of champagne bubbles, but she thought the color combination offered a unique spin on the classic pink champagne look for New Years.

This blank features a combination of 1mm and Ultra Fine Glitter with pops of pink in the color-shift peach-green-champagne sparkle inside a transparent Alumilite base.

If you are using this for a tubed project, we recommend painting the tube or inside of the blank, but as always; the creative decision is up to you. The glitter does offer quite a bit of coverage, but this blank does start with a clear base.

Our Glitter Alumilite blanks have that butter-smooth turn that you've come to expect from Alumilite, however the glitter does tend to make a mess. Expect to find glitter for a while after you turn. When finishing the Glitter blank, we've found that using a CA finish has given us the smoothest finish. If you don’t use a CA Finish (we use a few coats of Ultra Thin), you might be able to feel the slightest texture of the glitter on the surface of your turned blank.

Small voids in any Glitter blanks are to be expected. We put a lot of glitter in these blanks and some air bubbles and small tear-outs will occur when turning. We recommend using medium viscosity CA glue to fill these voids while the lathe is turned off. Be absolutely sure the CA glue has FULLY cured before you turn the lathe back on.

In the main picture and the close-up, the middle pen blank is showing the bottom side of the blank to give you a better idea of the glitter inside of the blank. Pretty amazing isn't it?

These Glitter Alumilite blanks are made in-house here at Bear Tooth Woods. We are starting small and only have the molds to make 3/4" x 5" pen blanks, but we have plans to expand if the demand is there from our customers, so let us know. Update Jan 18th: We are shipping orders within 1 day. USPS delivery times for domestic orders are still long (1-3 weeks) with some long delays with out being scanned. Unfortunately, we do not have any control or influence over the post office and we do not have access to any more tracking info than what you do. We ask that you allow the post office at least 2 weeks to deliver before inquiring about your order. International orders are still slow. Most are taking over 4 weeks to arrive. Please inquire about UPS shipping. It is not available as an option through the website, but is available via email. It is about the same price as USPS for shipping mixed kit and blank orders, but it is more expensive if you are ordering just blanks. However, UPS shipments are arriving within about a week at this time.
